Jeanne’s Topics

Ferns In The Landscape – in this presentation, Jeanne Rickenbaker will discuss adding ferns to the landscape. She will touch on varieties of ferns native to the Southeast and ferns that have adapted to our area. Also discussed will be some of the design benefits ferns offer such as texture, softness, color, movement and beauty but they also offer the functional benefits of stabilizing soil and preventing erosion.  Ferns also provide habitat and foraging space for ground feeding birds and small wildlife.
