Through our relationship with the Fulton CountyTeaching Museum North, and our Master Gardener Extension Volunteers volunteering to support their childhood educational programs, NFMG has the privilege of using the Greenhouse at the Teaching Museum. Specifically, in exchange for the use of the Greenhouse, the volunteer work performed is teaching grade-school children classes on gardening. Several of the classes are held at various Elementary schools in North Fulton County, and a few others (later in the Spring) are held in the Greenhouse. This is an excellent way to fulfill our mission of educating the public of Fulton County in the areas of horticulture and ecology!

Beginning in the fall, NFMG members donate cuttings from their plants that may not survive the winter in the garden. These are then propagated in the greenhouse over the winter. This provided the NFMG members with an opportunity to learn more about plant cultivation from cutting and seed starting. This knowledge can then be passed on the the public through speaker presentations.

The plants grown in the greenhouse are also included in our annual Garden Faire for purchase by the public. Monies earned from the sale goes back in the organization to be used in our demonstration gardens and teaching opportunities in the community.
